Fall Apple Cider
Los Angeles, Ca, September 2016- Apple cider is a favorite at the Hail Mary Food of Grace kitchen. It’s sweet and spiced flavors come from apples and cinnamon. They are warm and welcoming. They’re perfect for the fall and of course the holidays.
A good homemade cider is a wonderful recipe to have. However; a good ciders can be purchased at most grocery stores. The trick to serving a store bought cider is to try a few different brands and see which one you like the most. Then add some finishing touches like cinnamon sticks, apple slices, caramel sauce and water (to lessen the sweet flavor). Last but not least if you want an adult version you can add any variety of rum to add a hard kick.
Rum adds warmth and fire to your drink. When making an alcoholic version of this beverage we at the HMFG kitchen prefer to make it with a dark full-bodied rum instead of a clear cheap brand to add richness. However, we only add a touch (because we are weak, don’t judge) so there is definitely more apple than rum. You be your own Mixologist.
Here is our delicious recipe for an alcoholic spiced apple cider, but if you’re in the looking for a non-alcoholic version with a twist try Mary’s recipe at Traditional Home Magazine. It’s light, nice and can be served at morning, noon or night.
